DRV8106-Q1: No command signal on GL1, but GH1 is OK

Part Number: DRV8106-Q1

I'm evalutation DRV8106 Q1,

I manage to configure and start the HBridge, I've a 50% PWM @ 2 KHz on IN1.

I've command signal on GH1, and high side MOS is driven accordingly

No fault repoorted

CSA configured and current reading is plausible with ma load.

Issue: Low side MOS is not driven, GL1 remain to 0V

Question :  Is there any register setting that may prevent GL1 and low side MOS to be driven ?  ( if not, my EMV is likely broken)

  • Hi Jerome,

The DRV8106 is a half-bridge driver that is controlled by one PWM input. It seems the driver is functional when high-side switching (GH1 is HIGH, and GL1 is LOW).

When IN1 is LOW is the GL1 pin still LOW?

    Best,

    David

  • I've found the issue , IN1 and nHz were inverted into harness between ECU board and EVM. Therefore DRV8106 switch between Hig state and HighZ when PWM was applied on nHZ instead of IN1. Issue fixed by swapping 2 wires on the harness

Hope this would help people facing the same issue
