Hi Team,
The customer would like to know if the overcurrent of this chip can be set to a smaller value, such as over 200k? Also, it requires that the bus for this current sensing be phase currents. Thanks.
Best Regards,
Cherry

Hi Cherry,
The DRV8312 max OCP resistance is capped at 200k and should not be exceeded. There is also the consideration that there is a possible 20% variation on OCP performance between devices, which may further affect an abs-max violating selection.
Is there a particular OCP threshold that is desired? A different device may be more suitable for the application.

Hi Joshua,
Thank you for the support.
May I know is the current being captured phase current or bus current?
Thanks and regards,
Cherry
Hi Cherry,
The current monitored is the BUS-current flowing from battery to GND, as an OCP condition usually occurs when both high-side and low-side MOSFETs are conducting ("cross conduction").
