DRV8350: n-Fault signal of DRV8350H

Part Number: DRV8350

Hi Team

Let me ask about the n-Fault signal of DRV8350H.

1). Which Faults  are valid with DRV8350H(HARDWARE) in below table? All FAULTS?

2).What does Hi-Z mean in above table?

Does HI-Z mean that the gate output to the  FET is fixed at Low by the internal pull-down resistor and the gate output is stopped?)

best regards

TATSU

  • Hi Tatsu,

1). Which Faults  are valid with DRV8350H(HARDWARE) in below table? All FAULTS?

Table 6. Fault Action and Response applies to both hardware and SPI versions of DRV8350. Some key differences between hardware and SPI you may find throughout the datasheet are threshold capabilities and configuration settings. All these difference are mentioned in the appropriate sections if they are present.

2).What does Hi-Z mean in above table?

Hi-Z means the pin is open or floating.

Does HI-Z mean that the gate output to the  FET is fixed at Low by the internal pull-down resistor and the gate output is stopped?)

When the gate drivers shut off (due to a fault, or ENABLE going low), the gate drivers get pulled down to the sources using a passive and semi-active pulldown. The 150kohm resistor is a passive pulldown to slowly pulldown the MOSFETs gates for about 400ns, then an internal active pulldown pulls the gate down to the source voltage.
