We want to use DRV8300 for bldc and PMSM control with frequency of 16Khz.How much gate charge can be supported by DRV8300. Supply voltage of DRV8300 is 15V. Combine Average current of 30 mA is confusing us, kindly elaboration on this.
1) Is this for half bridge i.e. each leg (out of 3 legs in a three phase inverter).
2) Can I connect a resistance of 1 kohm between gate and source (without mosfet) and get 15 mA constant current on any three gate pins simultaneously, if I do not switch (for 15 V output)
Hey Rahul,
The DRV8300 has external GVDD supply for the gate drive so no limit technically. The idrive current for source and sink is the limit for gate current.
The 30mA is a recommendation for all phases combined.
Are you trying to drive a resistive load and not a mosfet? What is the application?
Best,
Akshay
