DRV8323: 48V Battery System recommendation

Part Number: DRV8323

Hello:

We are using the DRV8323 device for our current design, which runs with a 24V battery. We would like to pursue using a battery of 48V. When the battery is completely full it reaches 55.4V. We are worried that this is too close to the 60V operating range of the DRV8323, and that when regeneration happens it could be hit. We have a shunt resistor system that can be programmed in such a way to start dissipating power when the regeneration voltage goes over a limit, but I worry that the head room between 55.4V and 60V is too close. I see the absolute maximum voltage is 65V. My question is, would there be any adverse effect if there are voltage spikes on regeneration that go over 60V (but stay under 65V)?

We also looked into the DRV8353SRTAR but it seems out of stock everywhere. I would like to talk with a TI rep to see if we could get some samples, and to quote in QTY for our product.

Thank you!
