DRV8434A: DRV8434ARGER Performance problem

Part Number: DRV8434A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8434

Hi

We made a version in September and found it OK, and then we made another version in October, with the same schematic diagram and the PCB of the motor
It is the same, found that the motor can not run, the voltage is 15.8V and the previous version of the same, the motor is the same, the procedure is the same, check
Check found that CPL and CPH pin waveforms are different,
1, I would like to know whether the different CPL and CPH waveforms cause the motor to not move. If yes, how to solve this problem? If not, why does the motor not move? Could you please help me confirm the reason? How to solve this problem

Thank you

  • Hey Hellen,

Have you tried replacing the DRV8434 part on the PCB to try to rule out pins being shorted underneath the QFN package that we can't see?  How many boards have you found this issue on?

Can you remove the CPH-CPL capacitor and measure its capacitance to confirm it was populated with 22nF (0.022-µF) like the schematic?  Want to make sure it wasn't accidentally swapped for a 220nF.

Can you also post a more clear picture of the top of the chip, where I can read the writing/markings on it? I want to confirm it is not counterfeit part.

    Best,

    Jacob
