DRV8303: Power-on of the DRV8303

Part Number: DRV8303

I would like to ask about the power-on of the DRV8303.
Regarding the respective power-on timings for VDD_SPI, REF and PVDD1,
If VDD_SPI and REF are turned on first and PVDD1 is turned on after a delay,
does this cause any problems?
What problems may arise?
If there is anything we should be careful about in terms of power-on timing,
would you please tell us ?

Regards,
Hiroyasu Matsubara

  • Hi Hiroyasu Matsubara,

Aside from some power conditions involving VDD_SPI and SDO (as listed below), there should be no major issues if a delay appears between VDD_SPI/REF and PVDD.

There might register a PVDD/GVDD undervoltage fault through SPI until power is supplied to the device, but that should not pose an issue once power is supplied.

To save time and avoid trouble, I recommend powering on PVDD first and following the 7.3.4 instruction above.

Please let me know if I can clarify further.

    Best Regards,
