Hello,
If this feature is ENABLED, then the device will measure the VGS on the gates of the external FETs and use this information to switch one FET "off" before switching the other FET "on". This monitor works on both high-side and low-side FETs to avoid a shoot thru condition when both FETs are on at the same time. The "handshake" ensures that one FET is off before enabling the other FET on.
It is a smart gate drive feature. If you disable it, the device will act like a standard gate driver and obey the deadtime numbers without using the VGS monitors.
Regards,
Ryan
