Hi team,

I have DRV8316REVM board and DRV8316CR-Q1 IC. The DRV8316REVM board works fine, but when I remove the DRV8316RRGFR connected to the DRV8316REVM board and replace it with the DRV8316CR-Q1, the circuit does not work and I cannot see the phase outputs. What would be the reason. What is the difference between DRV8316C-Q1 and DRV8316RRGFR?

Hey Cem,

The DRV8316R and the DRV8316CR-Q1 are pin to pin compatible and should work with an IC swap on the DRV8316REVM.

Have you ensured proper connection/soldering? Is there a fault being triggered? is the nsleep pin logic high?

Hi Akshay,

I checked the connections, there is no problem with the solder. DRVOFF pin logic LOW, nSleep pin logic HIGH. It doesn't work on SPI. Also, DRV8316RRGFR works on the PCB I designed, but DRV8316C-Q1 does not.

Hey Cem,

Do you have another IC of the Q1 version to test? I am suspecting if there is IC damage. Could you elaborate on " It doesnt work on SPI"? was the fault LED on?
