Could you please tell me the connection requirements for the thermal pad?
I have the thermal pad connected to a wide pattern different from GND.
While operating it, I noticed that the thermal pad and GND were shorted.
We have removed the IC from the board and checked for shorts between pins, so there is no doubt that it is an internal short in the IC.
We have confirmed that the new IC has Hi-Z between the Thermal pad and GND, so we believe that the Maximum rating of the thermal pad has been exceeded.
