DRV8805: End of Life

However, you can use any of our modern stepper motor drivers to drive a unipolar motor, see this app note:  https://www.ti.com/document-viewer/lit/html/SSZT313 Basically you just don't hook up 2 of the wires.  

Given that, can you provide some specs of the motor?  Mainly the planned operating voltage and the peak/continuous current.  Give me that and I can make a couple of newer suggestions!

Hi Jacob,

Thank you for your response.  While the part won't be End of Life soon, I wanted to know if it won't be End of Life within the next 10 years or so.  This is to ensure that by the time the production for the commercial product is started, there won't be an issue with the lack of the said part.  

I have seen your link on using modern stepper motor drivers to drive a unipolar motor but I was instructed to look for a driver specifically for a unipolar motor.

As for the specs, the planned operating voltage is 24V and the peak current is around 2A.
