Hello,

We just got an alert from Silicon Expert, it stated that the specs has change (see below). Can you confirm and why with the change?

Our Eng asked : The new range doesn’t make sense. How can the voltage range associated with a logic 1 overlap with the range associated with a logic 0? Is it a typo?

Hi Tuan,

The threshold range is only for that specific logic level. If logic 0 has its threshold rise for a condition, then logic 1 will also rise. Figure 7-16 from the datasheets showcases the relation:

Can you help answer questions from our EE.

You could ask Rubas at TI if the “INPUT line has hysteresis. Also, is this a change to the part, or is it the same as it ever was?

The explanation from Rubas at TI doesn’t explain why the minimum logic 1 and max logic 0 thresholds are different on the new vs the old datasheet. Hysteresis would explain it.

Hi Tuan,

To answer the first part, yes, there is hysteresis in the input. For the second part, the devices in the UCC2742x and UCC2732x family and its automotive versions had a PCN recently, which resulted in changes to some of their electrical characteristics (in this case, the input threshold). The document you received from Silicon Expert is the PCN, where that document explains the affected devices, and the revision history in the devices' datasheet explains what changed.

Hi Rubas,

Can you provide few sample for testing? Since the datasheet revised in November of 2023, so the date code has to be later than November of 2023.

Hi Rubas,

Can you confirm the change on the datasheet was revised on 11/2023? Any date code before 11/2023 won't have this change, am I correct?

Can you provide PCN document you mentioned above?

Hi Tuan,

The PCN should've been provided by the distributor that you bought the device from. Yes, the datasheet was revised on November 2023, though the affected device will have the change at a later date, which is stated in the PCN.
