DRV8844: SRC12,SRC34

Part Number: DRV8844

Hi Team,

In datasheet, it is said that the two pins SRC12 and SRC34 of DRV8844 can be connected to external current-limiting resistors, but there is no further specific explanation. Could you possibly help below questions:

1. Is the voltage that triggers the current limiting protection 0.6V?

2. Will OCP be triggered after current limiting protection is triggered?

3. Is the peak current limited or the RMS current limited?

Regards,

Annie

  • Hi Annie,

    1. The +/- 0.6V spec is absolute maximum voltage on the sense resistor if used to VNEG (GND). These sense resistors are for external current sensing and monitoring purpose only. The DRV8844 does not feature internal current regulation using these sense resistors.

    2. See below info in the data sheet.

    3. IOCP spec is for peak current.
