DRV201: DRV201 driver if applicable for liquid lens

Part Number: DRV201

HI,

We have planning  to use DRV201YFMR IC to drive the liquid lens ,can anyone please help us

Here I have attached the Lens requirement ,Requesting you to help us on this .

Thanks,

Pooja Ak

  • Hey Pooja,

What is the operating voltage you run the liquid lens at?  I see ±1V on the spec sheet, but that is very low and want to confirm that you don't run at 5V or similar.

And do you know whether the current regulation accuracy is important for this application?

    Best,

    Jacob

  • Hi Jacob

Yes lens operating voltage is  ±1V,
Yes while adjusting the current will do the auto focus ,current regulation also important in our case .

will it DRV201 IC  support  ± Voltage ?

    Thanks,

    Pooja Ak

  • Hey Pooja,

Unfortunately this part only works at 2.5V to 4.8V VM supply voltage.  Same for the updated version of the part, the DRV201A.  We do not have any drivers that can run below 1.65V.

    Best,

    Jacob

  • Hi Jacob ,

Just make it clear about my pervious query
    My question is
what will be the supporting output voltage of this driver ?[output of the Driver]
Bcz lens operating voltage is  ±1V

*I have one more doubt ,is there any possibility to convert from unipolar to bipolar in the same IC ,
Will it DRV201 is support bipolar function please confirm me .

Requesting you to clarify on this .

    Thanks,

    Pooja Ak

  • Hey Pooja,

No, the device won't work for a 1V lens.  DRV201 is current-controlled and fairly customized for control of Voice Coil Motor (VCM).  VM input needs to be 2.5V to 4.8V, so 1V won't work and it can't regulate the output voltage down to 1V.

Correct, it is only a half-bridge driver, so could only put current in one direction.

    Regards,

    Jacob
