DRV8873H-Q1EVM: 5V Internal Regulator max current output

Part Number: DRV8873H-Q1EVM

I have scanned the datasheet of the DRV8873HPWPR DC motor driver and I haven't found anything on the maximum current that the DVDD (Internal regulator) can source. I want to know if It can be used to power an arduino (which I doubt, but its worth asking) or like a number of op amps and comparator? Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Eduard,

The internal DVDD LDO is designed for powering internal digital circuitry and not meant for external loading. It cannot power an Arduino. When loaded with a current  sink > 1 mA the DVDD voltage will start falling rapidly as the load increases and affect internal digital circuit operation.
