Hi Annie,
The DRV8210 accepts external PWM inputs 0 to 100 kHz with variable duty cycle on its control pins per datasheet description. PWM input duty cycle will be output as PWM output voltage with the same duty cycle. Based on the output duty cycle the average current through the load for example a motor can be changed because the PWM will result in an average voltage. This is typical behavior of a PWM voltage. It is possible to achieve 12-bits resolution of the PWM. Keep in mind the minimum duty cycle output that will be possible to achieve would be limited by tDEAD + tRISE + tFALL and the PWM frequency used. Please note the DRV8210 does not have current sensing or integrated current regulation. If this feature is needed we have several other devices in our portfolio.
