DRV3901-Q1: Query regarding deployment and false trigger.

Part Number: DRV3901-Q1

Hello Team,

I am using DRV3901-Q1 in my application.

I have following queries.

1. Is multiple ignitions of the pyro fuse possible?  if first deployment fail can it trigger again?

2. Can ignition of pyro fuse can be happened without triggering (SPI/trigger pin) of the driver?

3. Can we detect the difference between the successful deployment and OUTL/OUTH line breaking?

4. STATUS register are store in which memory type?

It will be helpful if you share the details.

Thanks in advance!!

Regards

  • Hi Samrudhee,

    Please see my comments below

    1. Is multiple ignitions of the pyro fuse possible?  if first deployment fail can it trigger again?

Ibinu>> DRV3901-Q1 can retrigger again in case the command is given to the driver again. However a CLR_FAULT command has to be given before the second deployment command

    2. Can ignition of pyro fuse can be happened without triggering (SPI/trigger pin) of the driver?

Ibinu>> Preventing unintended pyro-fuse firing is one of the assumed safety goals of DRV3901-Q1 with ASIL-C rating. Please refer to safety manual for further details on this

    3. Can we detect the difference between the successful deployment and OUTL/OUTH line breaking?

Ibinu >> The load resistance diagnostics can be used for the same. The procedure for the same is available in datasheet applications section

    4. STATUS register are store in which memory type?

Ibinu>> STATUS registers are in a volatile memory and will be lost if both PVDD and VDD supplies are lost. However if either  one of the supply is present the register information is preserved due to the safe_5V supply.

Please let me know if this clarifies the questions

    Thanks,

    Ibinu

  • Hello Ibinu,

Thank you so much for your quick response.

Your input is really help us for the development.

Can you share details for the following questions.

    1. Can you share the FIT rate for the DRV3901-Q1

    2. Can you send us the CRC algorithm and lookup table for configuration.

    Regards

  • Hi Samrudhee,

    Please see my comments below

    1. This is part of the functional safety documentation we provide and can be accessed from ti.com. Please request for the same in https://www.ti.com/product/DRV3901-Q1#tech-docs

    2. Please see the attached calculator for DRV39xx CRC calculations.
