Hi team,
When direction is controlled, differences in torque and output voltage occur depending on the direction.
Are there any possible causes?
Sincerely,
Ryu.

Hi Ryu,
Can you provide your board schematic? Have you taken care on HALL placement value and corresponding commutation pin value?
Is it single or 3 Hall sensor ?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Venkatadri S
Hi Venkatadri-san
I have obtained waveform data for this matter.
There is also information about the motor.
I don't think there is a problem with the position of the Hall sensor, but could you please review the waveform?

Hi Higa,
From the waveform, Drive is trapezoidal and hence CMTMODE pin is floating, and 30-degree HALL will work without any issue.
I verified the motor data sheet, there is no load, and this motor should be able to spin in either direction with same power.
But, looking at the waveform in other direction motor seems to be seeing more load and hence running with maximum duty and lower speed.
The motor data sheet is DE I can understand connector details. But there is no information about HALL electrical spec.
Are you using EVM to drive the motor or your custom board?
Just to make sure there are no fundamental issues, please check HALL connection types as per data sheet. If digital then DRV10970 should have HAL section biasing as shown below
You can share schematics , we will review it.
Thanks and Best Regards,

Hi Higa,
Also, can you try reversing thr motor winding, exchange any two phases , U and V or W and keep the same FR position .
Let me know your observation.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Venkatadri S
Hi Higa,
Any update on this requested test?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Venkatadri S
Hi Venkatadri-san
Sorry for the delay.
My customer have confirmed with exchanging two phases then motor rotated with no issue.
However the reason why the issue is resolved is unknown.
Is it possible for you to guess the reason?
Regards,
Higa
Hi Higa-San,
This shows motor phases and sensors are aligned in this combination.
Can you also check changing FR value and if the motor works properly with this winding connection?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Venkatadri S
