DRV8424: DRv8424/6 inquiry

Part Number: DRV8424

Hi team,

I received some questions. Customer is concerned about are there any problems with the way using the device following.

Could you support these please?

  • If the fault pin is not used, is it OK to go directly to GND?
  • When power on, 3.3V(for STEP,ENABLE,DIR,SLEEP) is applied earlier than 24V(VM). is it OK?
  • To avoid momentary excitation when the system power up,
ENABLE is pulled down by 10k Ω so that the EN pin is around 0.1 V at start-up. is it OK?

Best regards,

Goto

  • Hi Goto-san,

    See below answers.

    • If the fault pin is not used, is it OK to go directly to GND? Yes it can be left open or connected to GND. It is a open drain output so not required to connect to GND
    • When power on, 3.3V(for STEP,ENABLE,DIR,SLEEP) is applied earlier than 24V(VM). is it OK? Yes it is okay.
    • To avoid momentary excitation when the system power up,
ENABLE is pulled down by 10k Ω so that the EN pin is around 0.1 V at start-up. is it OK? Yes VIH LOW is 0.6V MAX. So up to 0.6V will be treated as LOW.
