Is it possible to get more info on how align-and-go technique works? I can find resources for the IPD, but nothing for align-and-go. We are developing our own motor and need to have better understanding of the driving technique.

Align is motor startup method like IPD.
In Align, rotor will be aligned to known angle before starting to run the motor.
Device injects DC current to particular phase winding, this current generates a field and rotor get aligned with the field.
The strength of DC current is programmable based on the rotor starting torque need and there is configurable time which keep motor in align state for the amount of time configured. Based on motor inertia we can chose suitable time to ensure rotor is fully stable before starting to run (Go)
