MCT8329A: [GD_CONFIG1] What do Reserved bit 28 and 29 mean?

Part Number: MCT8329A

Dear person in charge,

What does it mean when the reserved bits 28 and 29 of GD_CONFIG1 are checked?

If the reserved bits 28 and 29 are not checked, GD_CONFID1 = 0x0006807B, but if they are checked, GD_CONFID1 = 0x000680FF. In this case, is there any error that is not mentioned in the MCT8329A datasheet? I would like to know the difference between these setting values.

I have a feeling that the presence or absence of this reserved bit changes the occurrence of the fault.

  • Hi Okamoto-san,

These reserved bits are not used and have no impact in the control algorithm no matter if they are set to 0 or 1.

What fault are you observing, and how is it associated with these 2 reserved bits?

    Regards,
    Eric C.
