Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD18532Q5B,
Hello, I am using DRV8701E to drive a brushed motor. Unfortunately the driver goes into over current protection mode as soon as power is applied. The driver tries to reset ever 3ms for about 4.5us and then goes into fault again.
When lookin at the signals, I see as soon as the power is applied the gate signal for the top 2 FET's come on to about 12V and the bottom fets switched in sync with the fault pin.
My circuit is exactly same as DRV8701EVM evaluation board except the MOSFET are different. In my design I'm using RD3H200SNFRATL and the EVK uses CSD18532Q5B.
I have modified my board to match the EVK exactly. VREF pin is not connected to anything (trace is cut) and IDRIVE pin is also floating.
If I remove the top 2 Fet's, the driver does NOT go into over current failure.
Also when in overcurrent failure, If I apply the sleep signal to the driver, the driver come out of over current mode. I have tried it with and without the load and same thing is happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Arun
