ULC1001-DRV290XEVM: Resonant frequency

Part Number: ULC1001-DRV290XEVM

Tool/software:

Hello.

Are the LC filters of the driver's OUT_A and OUT_B related to the resonance frequency of the LCS?
Currently, EVM appears to be sweeping frequencies between 115kHz and 123kHz. (Resonant frequency of TI’s LCS)
Can I change the resonant frequency of the EVM output by changing the L,C values?

  • + The resonant frequency of my LCS is 16.5kHz.
However, when I tested it by connecting it to an EVM, the output waveform was strange at 16.5kHz, and the output waveform was normal at 130kHz to 140kHz.
Can this be solved by changing the L and C values?

  • Hello,

The output LC filter may need to be changed for your LCS, but I am not sure that is the issue. Does the signal look odd before the LC filter as well? Are you setting up manual clock mode? With the default PLL clock settings, the minimum frequency is 24.4kHz. For further information on manual clock mode, please refer to 7.6.1 Digital Signal Processor in the datasheet.

  • Where should I write the register value to set Manual Clock Mode?
Can I modify register values from the GUI?
Do I need to modify the existing script file?

Please tell me how to register the PLL change register in the GUI as shown in the table below.

  • Hi,

Yes you can do this in the GUI. You can either write a script similar to the table above or you can check "Manual Clocking?" in the GUI where you can then easily change the PLL clock.
