DRV8243-Q1: off-state diagnostics problem

Part Number: DRV8243-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer tested the off-state diagnostics and they found the result did not match any status.

nSLEEP = 1  DRVOFF = 1

BLUE: OUT2

GREEN: OUT1

YELLOW: IN1

RED: IN2

Result:

IN1

Can you tell me what they should test in next step?

Peter

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your question. Let me feedback to you within 24hours.

  • Hi Peter,

    Off-state diagnostic should use nFAULT pin or OLP_CMP output to judge the result.

    And MODE is also important. Which mode is used? If Independent mode, DIAG pin or S_DIAG is also important.

    1) Who is customer and application?

    2)Which variant customer is using?

    3)Which mode(PWM, Independent etc) customer is using?

    4)How customer connected load? H-Bridge? Low side drive, High side drive. If schematic is available, I can check it.

  • Hi Shinya,

    Now they fix the OFF-state diagnostic problem.

    They have another problem now:

    They set nSLEEP = DRVOFF = 1, IN1 = IN2 = 0. They saw 350mV on OUT1&OUT2 pin. In the table it says OUT1&OUT2 should be Hi-Z mode. Then they connect OUT1&OUT2 to GND with a pull down resistor and found the 350mV still exist.

    You can also see the 350mV waveform in the picture above.

    They want to know why this 350mV exists. They want it to be 0 otherwise it will affect their ADC diagnostic.

    Or it cannot be shut down because it is powered by internal module?

    1) Who is customer and application?

    2)Which variant customer is using?

    3)Which mode(PWM, Independent etc) customer is using?

    4)How customer connected load? H-Bridge? Low side drive, High side drive. If schematic is available, I can check it.

    1. Customer: YFTECH; App: Zonal control;

    2. Do you mean SPI or GPIO version? SPI;

    3. PWM;

    4. H-Bridge.

    Peter

  • Hi Shinya,

    Pls check schematic below.

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Could you generate new post when move to different questions from next time?

    350mV should come from outside of DRV. I suggest removing two resisters bellow to disconnect from their external circuit. And remove the motor load as well.

    If 350mV is still there after above, please generate new post.

    Thanks,

    regards

    Shinya Morita
