It’s still not clear to me how to control the motor direction via the tSPI protocol. There might be a command or a register that can write to or missing something. Customer already purchased the DRV8311P driver and the corresponding EVAL board, but they really need to be able to change motor direction on the fly using software.

Can you think of any way to achieve this with the DRV8311P and the tSPI protocol?

Hi Archie,

From my review it appears the C2000-based GUI does not allow for motor reverse control, but the source code in MotorWareSDK for the DRV8311HEVM will have this capability.

This appears to be a difference between the c2000 GUI and the MSP GUI design, which does allow for CCW toggle.

Please refer to this E2E FAQ guide on setting up the source code (no additional devices needed other than the DRV8311H-EVM and 49C launchpad) : e2e.ti.com/.../faq-drv8311hevm-drv8311hevm-source-code-for-motorcontrol-sdk-instaspin-foc

The motorware software has been updated to 5.0 version, but that should be the only change.
