Hello team,

Can you teach me smart gate drive setting?

  1. Is it possible to adjust the gate drive current through SPI or HW at any time? Please let me know if there are any conditions that cannot be changed.
  2. If #1 is yes, how long does it take for the gate current to actually switch after changing the setting value in SPI or HW?
  3. In case of DRV8161/2, is it latched by initial setting?

    Hey Sakai-san,

    For DRV835x:

    In SPI variant the update to IDRIIVE setting should be <1us after the end of SPI frame.

    For HW variant ~10us.

    For DRV816x family the settings are latched and cannot be changed on the fly. You will need to swap the resistors and go through a power up cycle.
