DRV8328: Temperature characteristic data for DRV8328B

Part Number: DRV8328

Tool/software:

Team,

My customer wants to calculate the impact to gate driver FET at 150C.

Would you please provide the register value at Ta=150C to TDS(ON)_PU_HS, RDS(ON)_PD_HS, RDS(ON)_PU_LS, RDS(ON)_PD_LS?

The following data is at Ta=25C. we need the same data at Ta=150C.

Regards,

Shinji Nishio

  • Hi Shinji,

    Thank you for you question!

These listed RDSon values have been specified at this typical range of 25C, but the MAX/MIN values are what can be expected at such higher/lower temperatures,  respectively.

At 150C, as MOSFET RDSon resistance increases,  the customer should be able to expect values much closer to the MAX limitations.

We do not have the exact characterization data available to the give out, but this observation should be sufficient for system planning/gate resistance selection if operating in higher-temp environments.

    Best Regards,

    -Joshua

  • Joshua,

    Thank you.

Let me add the comment. They want to confirm the trend data of RDS(ON) by temperature as follows.

     -RDS(ON)_PU_HS, RDS(ON)_PD_HS, RDS(ON)_PU_LS, RDS(ON)_PD_LS value .

Because they estimate the impact of FET at high temp.

    Shinji Nishio

  • Hi Shinji,

I apologize for the delay, Joshua is OOO till the end of next week. He will provide an update once he is back.

  • Hi Shinji,

Thank you for your patience in my absence. While the exact data cannot be verified, the trend is correct, as higher temperatures will cause the internal MOSFETs to increase RDSon in correlation. This is a safe observation.

    Best Regards,
