DRV8412-c2-kit encoder for closed loop control

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

I'm Having trouble finding info on the encoder connector provided with the kit.

Is there a specific encoder that can be used with the kit?

if so is there an example CC code for using such encoder with a brush DC motor?

Is there a way to use such an encoder with the GUI?

Is there another way of creating a closed loop control with the kit?

Thanx,

Roy.

  • Hi Roy,´

I have a similar question about the GUI, so I just post my question here.

My 2 questions are, where can I find the discussion forum for controlSUITE and how to edit a GUI?

    Thanks in advance,

    Long

  • Roy,

I am checking with our software team for example code on the encoder feedback.

    Long,

If you open up any of the DRV84/83xx GUIs, there is a tab at the top called "More..."  Click on that and it will give you some links on how to customize the GUI to your needs using a software package from a 3rd party called Crosshairs.

  • Roy,

    thanks for your tip.

  • Hi,

I know this thread is quite old but I am having trouble finding help on using encoder feedback with a TI dev board. I am probably going to buy the DRV8412-C2-KIT, but I want to make sure that I will be able to find resources for using the encoder feedback. Brett Larimore helped me out in this thread but I was hoping to confirm that there may exist some help with encoder feedback, or that at least it is possible with these kits. Since these threads seem to deal with that thought, can anybody point me to some more info on this?

    Thanks!
