DRV8334: Tdrive and IHOLD timing

Tool/software:

I did not see any information about IHOLD timing. Only see IHOLD_SEL = 1 or 0

Does it mean the IHOLD time = tDEAD – tDRIVE_N ?


Above is the scope shot I get, Am I understanding correctly that the period of time of Tdrive and IHOLD ? 

Above setting is Idrive = 125mA and Tdrive = 321ns without pre-discharge settings and IHOLD = 0

    Hi Tim, 

    There is no specific timing values given as this TDRIVE architecture timing is based on user control, but the sequence is the same regardless.

    This method should provide an estimation but may not be the most reliable, as the internal timing may lag the waveforms or vary a small amount. IHOLD should not activate while the slewing is still occurring, if my understanding is correct, so you should be able to roughly determine the length given the deadtime.
