DRV3946-Q1: UCLO_EN=1 Affected output Hi-Z(How to guarantee the LSD will not output Hi-Z when the LSD output pin use 10nF near the connector)

Part Number: DRV3946-Q1

Tool/software:

SW Set: UCLO_EN =1;RIPPLE_THRS = 0X0;SR = 0X4

The configuration about drive hold current of typically value is 0.6A, minimum is 0.53A

According to the SW set, the output Hi-Z limit value is 0.53*68% = 0.36A

Test result of ripple of current of LSD below 0.36A, but do not output Hi-Z, how to guarantee the LSD do not output Hi-Z for all PCBAs of life cycle.

  • Hi Zhang,

    Thanks for your question.

The UCLO is determined using the current sense voltage being compared against the thresholds. Also please note that the current sense needs to be lower than the UCLO threshold for more that the LS_SNSOK time

I would recommend to look at the IPROPI voltage to see how it is moving and ensuring that the voltage settles within the LS_SNS_OK time.

    Thanks,

  • The ripple current of IC Output pin is channel 5,the minimum ripple current value is almost 0.39A the maximum ripple current value is almost 0.9Athe typical current value is almost 0.6A,RT test waveform as below

expanded view of above waveform. Channel 3 is IPROPI IC side,Channel 4 is IPROPI MCU side, picture as below

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

From the waveforms it looks like there are lot more ripple in the IPORPI pin than seen on the current waveforms. Is this coming from the ground noise.

Also, what is the level of ripple voltage in IPROPI pin and how would it convert back to the current levels?

    Thanks,

    Ibinu
