MCT8329EVM: OCP_VDS_FAULT

Part Number: MCT8329EVM

Tool/software:

I am repeatedly getting the  OCP_VDS_FAULT, when I disable this fault I get OCP_SNS_FAULT.

When I disable both I am unable to use I2C speed command as soon as I enable the i2c and give any non-zero value in i2c speed command percentage the i2c is automatically disabled.

  • Hi Prabhat

There seems to be some issue with either MOSFET  or the motor. In the default JSON OCP_SNS level is set for max 2V.

The moment you start the motor it is hitting the fault.

When you disable the fault detection logic, device is resetting the due to overload and supply dropping (you can use voltage probe with oscilloscope and measure it) and hence you are seeing the setting are reverting back since they are on Non-Volatile memory.

Can you verify MOSFETS on the board ?

    Thanks and Best Regards
