MCT8316Z: SPI communication

Regarding SPI communication on page 59 of the datasheet, it says "A full 16 SCLK cycles must occur for a transaction to be valid."

Is it correct to understand that it is not possible to split 8 bits and send them twice?

Hi Higa-san,

For the MCT8316Z, the data can be sent in 8-bit sections for either read or write. We do this in our MCT8316Z firmware if you would like an example: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/MCT8316ZXEVM-MSP430FR2355-FW. examples can be found in the SPI_Write and SPI_Read functions in mct8316Z_spi.c

Maybe I misunderstand what you mean by "send them (8 bits) twice" but one set of 8-bits are for the parity and register address, the other set of 8-bits is for the data for/from the register address.
