DRV8908-Q1: What happens when VM is lower than 4.5V?

Hi Kento-san,

The DRV8908-Q1 has an under voltage lockout (UVLO) protection feature that will trigger a fault and disable all half-bridges when the VM pin falls below the UVLO threshold voltage of 4.5V.  

More information can be found on the datasheet in section 8.3.3.1 VM Supply Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO).

Is another behavior being observed or just a question of functionality?

It is just a question of functionality. The customer worries DRV8908-Q1 is damaged when VM is under 4.5V.

Based on the definition of absolute max ratings, can DRV8908-Q1 be damaged when VM under 4.5V is applied? or only triggering a fault and disabling half-bridge?

I cannot still understand why abs max is 4.5V because abs max can be around 0V even 4.5V is UVLO threshold if it cannot be damaged.
