I would like to ask if there is any sample code or reference material for DRV8245s-Q1 Driver IC.

Datasheet is being obtained and reviewed, but it is difficult.

(We need data to know the order of STATUS and COMMAND RESISTER calls for PWM operation)

You may have to login using myTI credentials to download the files.

As a general flow you should first wake up the device, nSLEEP = 1, wait for tWAKE time and then program the CONFIG1 to CONFIG4 registers via SPI as per your application requirements. Then you can command the drivers using pin control DRVOFF, EN/IN1, PH/IN2 or SPI based control using SPI_IN after unlocking it using the COMMAND register settings. FAULT_SUMMARY, STATUS1 and STATUS2 are read only. They provide feedback on device status and fault status. Thank you.

Thank you for your response.
I have a question for SPI communication test.
SDO (0x0889) for the COMMAND RESISTER is responding with a fault.
Which part should I check?
I attached SPI waveform and our circuit for confirmation.

(NSLEEP PIN :High, IPROPI PIN : LOW)

Hello, Murugabel,

It was resolved by changing the output of SDI according to SCLK Capture timing.
(Data is captured at the falling edge of SCLK.)

I am controlling the motor operation via SPI, and I need to control the motor speed.

I would like to ask about the speed control method when controlling the motor via SPI.

1. Do I need to control the motor with the ON/OFF toggle speed of S_EN_IN1, S_PH_IN2 bits in the SPI_IN register?

2. Is there a way to create PWM inside the IC?

Yes but this may not be efficient to control because PWM frequency will be limited by the SPI update rate. Would be better to control with PWM input on the pins.

The DRV8245-Q1 does not have internal PWM.
