DRV8243-Q1: Paralleling Outputs

Folks,

my customer planned to use the DRV8243-Q1 as Highside switch using one half-bridge only.

They now run into issues hitting the max. current of 12A and would like to know if they can parallel the outputs.

This is basically done in the DRV8143-Q1 but they would have to slightly change the PCB as the pinout is not 100% the same.

What changes have been made inside the DRV8143-Q1 besides paralleling the two half-bridges?

Can I do this externally and continue to use the DRV8243-Q1?

Thank you for your questions.

Unfortunately, DRV8243-Q1 does not support parallel mode. This topic was well discussed during development time.

We have DRV8143-Q1 and need to propose this half bridge device- although I understand PCB change is required.

understood.

As changing to DRV8143-Q1 will require some slight changes on the PCB the other option would be to use a DRV8244-Q1 offering higher current numbers.
