DRV8899-Q1: SPI

Part Number: DRV8899-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer is evaluating DRV8899-Q1. They tested the SPI, and got the rise and fall time of MOSI and MISO. It seems that the datasheet doesn't provide the range of rise & fall time. And according to customer's test results, the rise & fall time of MOSI (rise: 25.995ns, fall: 25.120ns) is obviously longer than that of other devices. Customer wondered whether it's within the normal range. Could you help provide the max and min value of rise & fall time of MOSI and MISO?

Thanks

Grey

  • Hi Grey,

All three devices shown in the table were tested with different SPI frequencies, correct? The rise time and fall time depends on the capacitance on the pin, for SDI it depends on the MCU output drive strength and input capacitance of the SDI. Assuming no other external capacitor is connected on the SPI the pin capacitance would be ~ 5 pF.

For the DRV8899-Q1 the highlighted specifications must be in compliance. Please ensure these specifications are followed. Does the customer have an issue with SPI communication for the DRV8899-Q1? Thank you.
