MCF8329EVM: MCF8329EVM RUN PROBLEM

Hello, I am trying different JSON files but I could not drive my engine. my measurements;
20uH / 2 = 10uH
280mOHM / 2 = 140mOHM
7 Poles
(when you turn the motor, the signal on the oscilloscope is F=181.2Hz Vrms=461V)
There is a 1mOhm Rshunt resistor in the circuit.

Since it is a fuel pump, 0-500rpm speed will be enough.

    What is the current rating? Also, the voltage you are applying.

    Vrms is 461V or 4.61V?

    Can you send image of the board and the setup.

    3s li-po battery = Voltage 9V-12.6V
    I don't have the motor datasheet, but I predict a maximum of 4-5A.

    I'm constantly getting variants of BEMF error. I didn't want to throw failed examples I don't have JSON that can make a successful drive.

    As per this Peak to Peak is 1.3V and frequency is 178Hz approximately.

    With this KE is around 2mV / Hz.

  • Yes, I calculated the same as you.

    I bought a more sensitive lcr meter.
    There have been some changes in the values, I want to update the JSON file without sharing it.
    R= 0.160 / 2 = 80mOHM
    Ld = 4.6 / 2 = 2.3uH
    Lq = 4.2 / 2 = 2.1uH
    I am changing Rshunt = 25mOHM upon suggestions.

    I missed to ask for rated current, voltage and max speed.

    You mentioned in the earlier post speed as 500 rpm with 7 pole pair. Hence, it will aprox 60Hz speed which I feel very less .

    Also, RSENSE value is 25mohm or 2.5m ohm?

  • 3s battery Average voltage: 11.1V
    I don't have a datasheet for the nominal current but the motor gets very hot when I drive it with 2.5A. I think it is about 1.5A.
    I said 500RPM because the motor is used in the flowing fuel pump. We can drive at 10000RPM but the speed I will use is less than that.
    I read in the forum for RSENSE that a value between 5-30mohm is good. I was able to find 25mohm and soldered it.

    The inductance is too low as per your second time measurement which is 2.3uH which is less than the lowest 6uH.

    We need to verify how well PWM frequency (I have selected 20KHz) can help here.

    In the motor parameter I used L and R from your first measurement, considered max speed as 10000 RPM which will be 1166Hz.

    Based on the RSENSE and max current I have updated GD_CONFIG1 and GD_CONFIG2 values which is equivalent to 3A max.

    Let us try to spin the motor in current mode (speed loop disabled), if hand off is successful then we will go ahead to tune the speed loop.
