DRV8305-Q1: Question about CSA

Genius 4840 points
Part Number: DRV8305-Q1

Tool/software:

The DRV8305-Q1 has a built-in 3-channel CSA (current sense amplifier).

Please tell me the temperature change rate variation (design value or actual value) among the 3 channels of the same IC for the following 4items (datasheet p.11).

1.GERR Current sense amplifier gain error: Can we expect the temperature change rate variation among the 3 channels to be XX%?

2.VIOS DC input offset: Can we expect the temperature change rate variation among the 3 channels to be XX% (or ±XX mV)?

3.IBIAS Input bias current: Can we expect the temperature change rate variation among the 3 channels to be XX% (or ±XX μA)?

4.IOFFSET Input bias current offset: Can we expect the temperature change rate variation among the 3 channels to be XX% (or ±XX μA)?

Kura

  • Hi Kura,

Let me look into these points and see if this is data that we have, I will have an update in about a day.

  • Yara-san

    Thank you for your reply.

Please update the information on this matter.

    Regards,

    Kura

  • Hi Kura,

I reviewed the question you have and unfortunately the answer is not that straight forward.

All tolerances should be included in the datasheet, we do not have these plotted vs temperature so it is difficult to answer what the variation would be across temperature.

I will have to consult my team if this is information that we have and can share, I will update tomorrow with a definitive answer.

    Regards,

    Yara

  • Hi Kura,

I believe the answers you are looking for are already in the datasheet on the page you referenced:

1.GERR Current sense amplifier gain error: Can we expect the temperature change rate variation among the 3 channels to be XX%?

2.VIOS DC input offset: Can we expect the temperature change rate variation among the 3 channels to be XX% (or ±XX mV)?

3.IBIAS Input bias current: Can we expect the temperature change rate variation among the 3 channels to be XX% (or ±XX μA)?

4.IOFFSET Input bias current offset: Can we expect the temperature change rate variation among the 3 channels to be XX% (or ±XX μA)?

I wasn't able to locate additional information outside of the datasheet on these specs.

    Regards,

    Yara

  • Do the temperature characteristic trends of the output voltages of the three amplifiers match, or do they not match?

*For example, is there any variation, such as the U phase rising at high temperatures but the V phase falling?

Also, Customer would be grateful if you could provide any shipping inspection data, etc.

    Regards,

    Kura

  • Hi Kura-san,

The electrical characteristics describe all three amplifiers, if there is a variation then that would have been stated in the datasheet.

Any kind of data on shipment should be handled with the FAE of the account. Please let me know if the customer is having issues contacting a TI representative on this matter.

    Regards,

    Yara
