MCF8329A: Sleep mode

Part Number: MCF8329A

Tool/software:

hi team,

my customer is using MCF8329 with MSPM0L. They need the total power consumption to work below 100uA in standby mode.

Since the MCU is powered by the integrated LDO of MCF8329, they want to know how to configure MCF8329 to realize the sleep mode. Thanks!

  • Hi Zoey,

You can keep the DEV_MODE = 0b, this will put the device into STANDBY instead of SLEEP.

    Thanks and regards,

    Sachin S

  • Hi Sachi,

Thanks for your reply and customers changed according this. Customer wants to use PWM to wake up the motor and set the speed through I2C.

And firstly they change the DEV_MODE = 1, SLEEP_ENTRY_TIME = 11, and then SPEED/WAKE pin a high voltage. then the motor is waked. AVDD works well and the motor runs according to the I2C speed /frequency set.

But when the change the SPEED/WAKE pin to the square wave whose duty cycle is 99%. the motor didn't run. and the AVDD is normal.

  • Hi Zoey,

Could you give more details on the input for SPEED/WAKE pin? What is the frequency of the input? what is the voltage levels?

    Thanks,

    Sachin S
