Hi Shahar,

At very low speeds, the motor’s commutation process might become inefficient or unstable, leading to noisy operation. Are you using FOC? and I'm assuming since you are using an EM1 encoder the motor is being run with an encoder-based feedback loop right?

A possible solution could be to increase the PWM frequency to improve the resolution of commutation at low speeds.

We are using FOC and an encoder-based feedback loop.

I believe this issue can be resolved because every time we set the run flag to false, the noise stops, and the motor runs smoothly without any noise. However, once it passes the index, the noise starts again.

Is there any calibration required when passing the index, other than resetting the position, that could be causing this issue? Also, is there any way to prevent it?

Thank you for the additional information. Yes I think your encoder position offset should be calibrated after the index is passed, so resetting it to zero or a specific known position would probably help
