DRV8242-Q1: on-state open load detection not working

Tool/software:

In on-state diagnostics, The Open Load fault is being detected falsely.
Even when the Pump is running its pointing an OLA fault.
In fault status register Fault bit and OLA bit are set. Also in status 1 register OLA2 bit is set.
Can someone help here?

Can you clarify the following in the setup

1. Is the tests done in EVM or any other hardware. Please share schematics if its another board.

2.What is the load current ?

Im working on other hardware not on EVK. sorry i cannot share the hardware schematics.

load current is 50mA.

Hi Rohith,

Can you provide a capture of both OUT signals, the motor current, and the nFAULT pin? I would like to check the state of the OUTx signals when the OLA error is being reported.

Can you also provide the state of the OLS_RETRY bit in address 0x0A?

I got a chance to talk to Shinya Morita from TI and the root cause for this behavior is identified as the external components.
