DRV8243-Q1: DRV8243-Q1 diagostics truth table

Part Number: DRV8243-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello, I wonder why the third line in Table 8-15 (DRV8243-Q1 data sheet, Off-State Diagonstics Table - PH/EN or PWM Mode (full bridge)) is necessary for Open Load detection. With the two previous lines, the truth table for OLP, GND short, VM short is already clear. The third line does not provide any new information for me.

Is there more information about error detection or source code?

Thank you very much

Jochen Heubeck

  • Hi Jochen,

Please allow me sometime to look into this question. I will aim to provide a response by 1/29.

  • Hi Jochen,

You are correct, with the first two lines of table 8-15 Normal, OUT, GND short, or VM short can be determined. The third line is there to show the OLP CMP Output if both the EN/IN1 and PH/IN2 inputs are set high, not necessarily to further narrow down the OLP CMP Output condition.

Is there more information about error detection or source code?

Most of the information about error detection is covered in section 8.3.4 of the datasheet. Is there some specific information you are looking for?

For the source code, the firmware provided on the EVM page on ti.com can be referenced.
