Need Help Running a Sensorless BLDC Compressor Motor with DRV8320RS and F280049C

Hi everyone,

I’m using a F280049C LaunchPad with the BOOSTXL-DRV8320RS and running the C2000 InstaSPIN-FOC GUI in MotorWare. When testing with the TI LVBLDCMTR motor, everything works perfectly—I can spin the motor even under load without issues.

However, when I try running the sensorless BLDC compressor motor I actually want to use with the DRV8320RS, it doesn’t move at all—no signs of life. To eliminate resistance, I even disassembled the compressor, gaining direct access to the rotor, but still no success.

Has anyone worked with similar motors or has experience with different startup sequences, such as aligned start techniques? Any code examples or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!
