Due to a manufacturing error a zero ohm Resistor was left out during production which connects the Drain pin of the N-Channel mosfets of the H-Bridge to pin 27 on the DRV8702-Q1.
We didn't realize that it was left out because it passed all testing and the mistake was only discovered much later.
I looked through the datasheet but didn't find out how exactly this input is connected internally.
My question is: What happens when Vdrain pin 27 is left floating? Is it safe to leave unconnected, if VDS is enabled and we can live with not having protection on the upper mosfets of the H-bridge?
Our application is a brushed DC motor in Automotive with Vin between 15-10V DC. The PCB has reverse voltage and transient Protection.
