DRV8262: Heat Sink Connection in DDV Package

I have a question regarding Thermal Pad of DRV8262DDV package. Should the Thermal Pad be connected to GROUND via Heat Sink?

Hello,

No, the Thermal Pad on the DDV package should only be connected to the heatsink. The heatsink will absorb the heat from the device and transfer it directly to the surrounding air.

Hi David,

Thanks for clarification. So should I use Silicon Thermal Interface sheet between IC Pad and Heat Sink.

Hi Shubham,

It's recommended to use pastes such as Ceramique from Arctic Silver, or TIMTronics 413. Both of these are silicone free.
