Tool/software:
We are currently using the DRV103 (3A PowerPad version) to drive custom solenoid valves. The DRV103 work great for the current design, and we chose to use a solenoid driver for the inbuilt over-temp, short-circuit and overcurrent protection as well as the peak-hold currrent limiting characteristic which is useful for solenoids.
However, our new design of solenoid draws 6.3A during pull-in and 5.5A during hold at 24V supply voltage which exceeds the DRV103 3A limit.
So the only option we see currently is to use a gate driver IC and external MOSFET to handle the higher current. Other than that, we would like to retain the protections from the DRV103.
Is there any advice or products you could reccomend for accomodating the higher current?
