DRV8245-Q1: DRV8245

Part Number: DRV8245-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

DRV8245(HW variant) require a nSLEEP reset pulse for max 20usec.After reset pulse the nFAULT and nSLEEP is always high. So my doubt is if in between i gave a pulse on nSLEEP pin max. 20usec will the DRV outputs goes to Hi-Z state or no effect of pulses.?

  • Hi Pratik,

After a nSLEEP pulse of 20us the device should clear all latched faults and resume operation as normal with nFAULT being high.

So my doubt is if in between i gave a pulse on nSLEEP pin max. 20usec will the DRV outputs goes to Hi-Z state or no effect of pulses.?

I so not think I have a good understanding of your question so please let me know if I did not answer your question. You mention providing a 20us pulse between something, what events will the pulse be between? The basic explanation for how the nSLEEP pin works is through timers, so if the device sees a nSLEEP pulse that lasts shorter than 5us it will then do nothing and ignore the pulse. On the other hand, if the pulse is between 5-20us it will then do a Clear Fault command. More than 20us leads to a device shutdown.

    Regards,

    Joshua

  • If there is no fault and nsleep sees a pulse of 5-20usec then there will be no effect on normal operation. correct?

  • Correct, if the pulse is under 20us, the DRV8245H-Q1 should simply attempt to clear any faults with no affect to the operation of the device.
