I want to use MCF8315D for a brushless DC motor. Is this good at startup? Can I start the motor without any vibrations with this. I want to use it for surgical operations.Whic mehtod will be better FOC or trapezoidal control?

Hi Tahir,

Do you have more details about motor specification? Speed, accuracy, power levels?

MCF8315D is definitely good starting point.

I have a ECX Speed 22L motor. It is desired to use this motor without Hall sensors to save the cost. The motor is to be used for the Morcellator to do cutting inside the human body during surgery. Will be sensorless control work for such an application?

Can I do both sensorless FOC and Trapezoidal control for this motor?

Hi Tahir,

What I understand for this application is to have smooth control, no overshoot, stable ripple free torque.

Trap will not be good option here, FOC can be better.

Let me verify the motor spec and if I have some question I will get back you.
