I am trying to install the DRV8889-QI_GUI_1.1.7.setup-win_7.3.0 on my PC, but cannot because the software requires GUI Composer Runtime. I have tried to install the recommended software from TI (this was in the TI chat forums), but this software (GUI_Composer-6.2.0.1-Setup) did not have the GUI Composer Runtime file. Please supply the GUI Composer Runtime file, or a link that will take me to the correct file to download.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for reaching out to us via this forum.

It is likely the firewall settings in your PC did not allow Runtime installation. Please uninstall the app and reinstall using the following sequence. You'll have to login to the dev.ti.com/gallery first using your myTI credentials.

1. Download the Windows Runtime installer for the DRV8889-QI_GUI_1.1.7 from here, https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/non-esd/gui_composer/runtime/gcruntime-10.0.0-windows-installer.exe to your computer, for example to the Downloads folder.

2. Download the Windows Setup installer for the DRV8889-QI_GUI_1.1.7 app from here, https://dev.ti.com/gallery/dl/MotorDriversBSM/DRV8889-Q1/ver/1.1.7?platform=win

3. Run the app setup installer. When you see the prompt for Runtime installation during this process please do not choose install from the web. Instead, browse and point to the downloaded Runtime installer. This should install the Runtime files to your computer.

Be sure to have the lates FTDI USB driver, from their website, https://ftdichip.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/CDM2123620_Setup.zip.
