DRV8962-Q1: OCPM Floating

Part Number: DRV8962-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

From DRV8962-Q1 datasheet, it mentioned when OCPM is logic low it will work in latch mode for overcurrent protection.

Is it okay to leave OCPM pin floating to make it work in latch mode, or it's better to tie it to GND?

Thanks,

Muwei Zheng

  • Hi Muwei,

    Thank you for your question.

The OCPM pin has a weak pulldown resistor - see below. Depending on adjacent pins noise etc. it would be good to tie it to GND or use a low ohmic resistor to GND. Assuming no noise impact generally when this pin is floating it is treated as logic LOW.
